A Memorable Journey in China
Hello everyone! My name is Alicia, and I'm from the United States. As early as five years ago, I developed a strong interest in the mysterious and fascinating Chinese culture and started my journey of learning Chinese online. Over these five years, through online classes, I've been exploring the wonderful world constructed by Chinese characters. Gradually, I mastered this language, which made me yearn even more for this vast land. Now, I've finally set foot in China and embarked on an adventure beyond my imagination.
My adventure in China has truly been a dream come true, filled with all kinds of wonderful flavors, breathtaking scenery, and heartwarming encounters.
The food culture here is like a magnificent and colorful taste palette. In Sichuan, I bravely tried the famous mapo tofu. Its spicy and numbing flavor awakened my taste buds in the most delightful way. Each bite was a fiery explosion of taste, yet I couldn't resist taking another. In Guangzhou, the dim sum won my heart. The delicate shrimp dumplings, with their translucent wrappers and juicy fillings, melted in my mouth, leading me into a world of refined and delicious cuisine.
The landscapes of China are truly magnificent. Standing at the foot of the Great Wall, I was in awe of its grandeur. As I hiked along its ancient bricks, the panoramic view of the surrounding mountains took my breath away. Realizing that each brick contains huge efforts and a long history, it was an experience that made me feel deeply humble. In Guilin, the Li River was like a vivid painting. The karst mountains rising from the calm water created a serene and magical atmosphere. I spent several hours on a bamboo raft, fully immersed in this beautiful scenery.
But perhaps the most charming part of my trip is the people here. The Chinese are extremely warm and hospitable. In a small village, an elderly lady invited me to her home for tea. Despite the language barrier, her friendly smile and gestures immediately made me feel at ease. She taught me how to make traditional tea, and we shared stories through laughter and simple words.
This trip to China has not only satisfied my longing for adventure but also deepened my understanding and love for this incredible country. I can't wait to explore more places and create new memories.
